The Ghan is one of the world's famous trains. From the Red Center with its salt lakes and red rocky ranges the journey goes overnight to the rich wheat and barley growing country around Adelaide. If your are lucky, you'll see kangaroos (we saw one). We travelled first class and had our own bathroom and shower. The two beds were spaceous and provided a good night's sleep. Tip: Take the first dinner seating and sit on the right (western) side in the dining car. The sunset is spectacular.
